inspection procedures

Inspect your hammock and each one of it's components prior to each use to ensure that every piece is in good, working condition.

1) Anchor Straps
- Visually check straps for worn, frayed, cut or otherwise damaged areas.
- Verify that stitching is in good condition.
- Verify that straps have not been exposed to heat or direct flame impingement.
- Verify that straps have not been exposed to liquids, solids, gases, mists, or vapors of any chemical or other material that can deteriorate the straps.
- If straps do not pass inspection, or if there is any doubt in the integrity of your straps, remove them from service and contact majestichammock@gmail.com to discuss replacement options.
2) Suspension system (whoopie slings, carabiners, ridgeline, other hardware, etc...)
- Visually check and verify that each whoopie sling extends and retracts smoothly, and has no worn, frayed, cut, or otherwise damaged areas.
- Visually check each carabiner for cracks, sharp edges, dents, corrosion, burrs or excessive wear.
(Minor nicks or sharp spots may be smoothed with emery paper)
- Verify that carabiners open and close smoothly, and do not bind in any way.
- Visually check and verify that the adjustable ridgeline extends and retracts smoothly, and has no worn, frayed, cut, or otherwise damaged areas.
- Visually check all other applicable suspension hardware for cracks, sharp edges, dents, corrosion, burrs or excessive wear.
- If any part of the suspension system does not pass inspection, or if there is any doubt in the integrity of your suspension equipment, remove it from service and contact majestichammock@gmail.com to discuss replacement options.
3) Hammock
- Visually check and verify that there are no rips or tears, loose stitching, ripped hems, significantly worn areas, holes, or melted or burned areas (from campfire embers, cigarette ashes, etc...)
- Visually check and verify that the internal elastic suspension extends and retracts smoothly through the cord locks, and that the cord locks themselves are not cracked, broken, or damaged in any way.
- Visually check and verify that the whoopie slings are properly and securely girth hitched around each end of the hammock, through the sewn end channel.
- If any part of the hammock itself does not pass inspection, or if there is any doubt in the integrity of your hammock, remove it from service and contact majestichammock@gmail.com to discuss options.
